Magic Mover is a meter gauge funicular railway ride, which transports guests from Six Flags Plaza up the hill to Samurai Summit, next to Ninja.
History[]
The ride was manufactured in 1970 by the Korneuburg Shipbuilding Company of Austria, which was affiliated with Intamin AG of Switzerland. The railway was constructed at the park by J.A. Placek Construction of Torrance, California. It was simply known as the Funicular when the park opened on May 29, 1971, then renamed to the Orient Express in 1988,[1] the Helpful Honda Express in March 2016,[2] and currently the "Magic Mover" since May 2022.[3]
Trivia[]
The ride originally featured a live operator who also functioned as a tour guide, but it was later fully automated with pre-recorded messages.[1]
