After Bourbon Street Fireball was announced as Six Flags America's "10th coaster" on August 28, 2014, many Six Flags fans and coaster enthusiasts were left confused by the company's designation of the flat ride as a roller coaster.[2] This lead to an online debate that lasted up until the ride's opening. After the controversy of Bourbon Street Fireball's identity, Six Flags no longer referred to future loop rides as "roller coasters".
